Always Think of Others' Welfare
A Vaisnava, a devotee of the Lord, always thinks of the welfare of others. He does not measure his happiness in terms of the accumulation of wealth, power, and prestige. He instead measures his happiness in terms of how much he can be of service to others. In other words, the more he can help others to become happy, the more he is happy. Just as by watering the root of a tree all the leaves and branches become nourished, by channeling his love to Krishna, the Lord's devotee perfectly gives his to love to all living beings throughout the entire universe at every minute.

Answer: We Are Not Living in Harmony with the Laws of Nature
Disruptions within the material nature are going on because we not living in harmony with the laws of nature. In Vedic science we learn that everything both good and bad that is taking place in this material existence is going on under the strict laws of nature. In other words, if I commit a sinful activity, I will be punished, and if I engage in a pious activity, I will be rewarded. Nothing is happening by chance. Everyone is getting their just rewards for their previous pious and sinful activities. This however does not mean that we should be callous to the sufferings of others. No. The devotee of the Lord is more concerned than anyone else to relieve the human population from so many varieties of suffering conditions such as earthquakes, tornados, tsunamis, terrorist attacks, crime, disease, economic collapse, etc. The devotee sees the underlying cause for all miseries, that people are acting independently of the laws of God and thus suffering so many karmic reactions. Therefore the devotee fully dedicates his life for educating people how to become free from karma by engaging in the devotional service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.Sankarshan Das Adhikari
