Captured and Tortured by Terrorists

At the present moment we are captured and being tortured by four terrorists known as birth, death, old age, and disease. They are terrorizing us again and again, birth after birth. Even though it hopelessly seems impossible to ever escape their grip, if we simply take shelter of Lord Sri Krishna we can easily escape them. This is confirmed as follows in the Bhagavad-gita:

daivī hy eṣā guṇa-mayī
mama māyā duratyayā
mām eva ye prapadyante
māyām etāṁ taranti te

"This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it."--Bhagavad-gita 7.14

It is not difficult to surrender to Krishna. All you have to do is chant His names with love, and He will bless you to become His surrendered devotee.

Question: I Cannot Give Up Family Attachment

Humble pranams, Gurudeva,

I love lord Krishna very much, and your sweet messages enhance that love a thousand times. However I am not able to give up my attachment for my family. Suppose if all the members of the family take to the Lord's worship. Is it possible to reach the spiritual world together? In material world we see that we don't remember our past births. Then in the spiritual world, do we remember our relations?

Answer: Increase Your Family Attachment

Family attachments are temporary because we have been attached to millions and billions of different family relationships while we have traveled since time immemorial in the cycle of birth and death. The perfection of family attachment is to guide your wife and children in such a way that they will all become delivered from the cycle of birth and death. If you and your family members all practice Krishna consciousness very seriously, you will all go back to Godhead, and you will be able to recognize each other in the spiritual world.

A devotee does not give up family attachment. Rather he increases his family attachment by recognizing that all living beings are his beloved family members. Thus he dedicates his entire life for making the whole world Krishna conscious.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead.
