We've Got This Message Through

We have tons of work to do to get this message through to the suffering people of the planet to save them from going down to the 8,000,000 lower species in their next life. But they are so foolish that they usually refuse to accept it. They sometimes become so disturbed when we try to educate them that they arrest us. I was personally arrested for distributing Back to Godhead magazine in Leesburg, Florida many years ago when I was a young brahmacari. Sometimes they even go so far as to kill our devotees, as they did to my dear Godbrother Brajajana Prabhu. He was murdered by a fire bomb while he was sleeping in our ISKCON center in Tennessee back in the 1970's. May his glories ever be vibrated throughout the three worlds.

In order to taste pure love for Krishna we should surrender to Krishna completely. So can you tell me what is complete surrender and how to practice it in a simplified manner?

Answer: Take Shelter of the Bona Fide Guru

It's very simple. Complete surrender means to strictly abide by the instructions given by the Lord. This cannot be done by mental speculation. You have to be trained by someone who is fully conversant with the orders of the Lord and is fully surrendered to Him. Srila Rupa Goswami therefore states that the very first step on the path of surrender to the Lord is to take complete shelter of the bona fide master. Such a qualified guru will then perfectly train you how to be fully absorbed in loving devotional service so that you can quickly and easily attain the supreme perfection of going back to home, back to Godhead.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
