We Need Enlightened Leaders

The current slate of world leaders is incompetent. They are unqualified to give guidance to the people how to be happy. Someone who is illusioned cannot guide others how to become free from illusion. Therefore we are currently stuck with a fool's paradise in which the blind are leading the blind and everybody is stuck in the ditch of repeated birth and death. The only way out of this quagmire is if there now emerges a class of enlightened spiritual leaders who can show by example and teach by giving detailed instructions to the people in general how to become situated on the transcendental platform of self-realization beyond sense gratification. To become an enlightened leader requires that one becomes a follower of the great enlightened leaders of the past. One cannot become an enlightened leader simply by advertising oneself as such, as many such cheaters are doing nowadays.

In the last few weeks I have noted that the quality of my japa has gone down. I am chanting almost in a mechanical way and many times fast. Please tell me how can I improve the quality of japa?

Answer: Deeply Beg for Full Surrender

Instead of just uttering Krishna's names mechanically, meditate on them in the mood of begging Krishna for full surrender to Him with such intensity as to fully assimilate this mood of complete surrender into the innermost regions of your consciousness.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
