In this material sex is the number one rated pleasure. People go absolutely crazy over sex. The reason it is so pleasurable is because having a child is very painful and difficult. If it weren't for the extreme pleasure of sexual intercourse nobody would take the trouble to have a child. The difficulty is that practically everyone is carried away by lust and they forget what is the actual goal of life, to become self-realized and go back to Home, back to Godhead. However, when one tastes the sweet pleasure of Krishna consciousness, which is thousands of times better than sex, he can easily give up sex pleasure, either by remaining completely celibate or only using sex for it's God-given purpose, procreation. In 1971 in Austin, Texas seeking spiritual perfection I was praying to God every day to guide me how to become His perfect servant. In answer to my prayer Lord Sri Krishna sent His Holiness Vishnujana Swami to Austin to teach me the science of pure devotion. On 2 January 2021 while giving a lecture in Austin, Texas I was asked if I am perfect. I immediately replied that I am not perfect. Srila Prabhupada also said that he has not perfect in a lecture he gave in Mumbai, India 9 December 1974. Here is how he stated this: "I am not perfect; that's a fact. But because I am speaking of the words coming from the perfect, therefore it is perfect. It is not speculation. It is very easy for us -- because we accept the words of the perfect. Therefore, whatever we say, it is perfect. You may challenge, 'Are you perfect?' I am not perfect.
